Best Digital Nomad Destinations for U.S. Working Hours

Working US hours from abroad is a question of overlap. The table scores each destination on how many of a 9-to-5 Eastern or Pacific day fall inside a sane local window (8 a.m. to 10 p.m.), using each city's standard offset with summer-time adjustments. The Americas win outright; the Atlantic islands and Western Europe give a long afternoon; Asia means nights.

Method and limits

Climate fit uses WMO monthly normals (maximum temperature and rainfall) against a warm-and-dry preference. Monthly cost = our dated mid-range one-bedroom rent estimate plus 75% of the mid-range daily living estimate × 30. Internet, community and coworking are editorial assessments (October 2026). Visa lines summarise the destination’s long-stay options and must be verified in the Visa & Work Finder. Destinations without WMO normals use editorial best months and are labelled.
