Georgia
The nomad world's open secret: a one-year visa-free stay for most Western passports, an 8,000-year wine culture, the Caucasus on the doorstep and a capital whose crumbling-grand old town hides some of the best-value cafes and apartments anywhere.
Entry and visas
Citizens of around 95 countries, including the US, UK, EU, Canada and Australia, may stay visa-free for up to one full year. The Remotely from Georgia programme has ended, but the one-year rule and the Individual Entrepreneur tax regime (1 percent on turnover under a threshold) make Georgia unusually friendly to freelancers.
